OneWeb relaunched 182 Internet satellites into orbit

According to foreign media, OneWeb's 36 Internet satellites took off on a rocket from the launch service provider Ariane Space. The flight is named ST31. The 36 satellites are planned to be deployed within about four hours after launch. By then, OneWeb will have 182 With two satellites in orbit, the company eventually plans to launch 650 satellites.



After satellite Internet deployment is completed, OneWeb will enable user terminals that support 3G, LTE, 5G and Wi-Fi coverage to provide global high-speed Internet access. The company hopes to expand its services to the United Kingdom, Alaska, Canada, Northern Europe, Greenland, Iceland, and the underserved northern regions of the Arctic by the end of the year, and to provide global services from 2022.

Earlier news pointed out that, as an important competitor of SpaceX, OneWeb is competing with SpaceX to seize satellite Internet coverage in the Arctic. For the US military, the Arctic is almost a desert area attached to broadband, and billions of dollars in government funds are creating a huge attraction for communications companies.
