5G users drive revenue growth, KT's third-quarter revenue reaches 6,217.4 billion won

Korea Telecom (KT) said on Tuesday that in the third quarter of 2021, revenue was 6.2 trillion won and profit was 382 billion won, an increase of 3.6% and 30% year-on-year respectively. All of the company's businesses have achieved growth, including 5G, data centers and content services.


According to foreign media reports, Korea Telecom (KT) said on Tuesday that in the third quarter of 2021, revenue was 6.2 trillion won and profit was 382 billion won, an increase of 3.6% and 30% respectively year-on-year.

 

It is reported that all of the company's businesses have achieved growth, including 5G, data centers and content services.


KT said that as of the end of the third quarter, 5G users had reached 5.6 million. The company said that due to the increase in average revenue per user, its mobile service revenue increased by 3.8% year-on-year.

 

KT said that due to the opening of two new data centers this quarter, its data center business revenue increased by 34.7% from the same period last year. The company also stated that demand from commercial customers for its artificial intelligence call centers was high this quarter.

 

In terms of content services, KT’s IPTV subscribers have increased by more than 100,000. KT said that although it plans to pay users about 35 billion won, this will be reflected in the results of the fourth quarter.
