Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Over 1,500 “5G+Industrial Internet” projects nationwide

A few days ago, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held a "5G+Industrial Internet" field work meeting for the mining industry in Taiyuan, Shanxi. At the meeting, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the first batch of key industries and application scenarios of "5G + Industrial Internet", involving five key industries and ten application scenarios.

The first five key industries of "5G+Industrial Internet" include: electronic equipment production, equipment manufacturing, steel, mining, and electric power. Ten application scenarios involve collaborative R&D and design, remote equipment control, equipment collaborative operation, flexible manufacturing, on-site auxiliary assembly, machine vision quality inspection, equipment fault diagnosis, factory intelligent logistics, unmanned intelligent inspection, and production intelligent monitoring.

Zhao Zhiguo, director of the Information and Communication Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated that so far there have been more than 1,500 “5G+Industrial Internet” projects across the country, covering 22 important industries in the national economy. Development experience.

According to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as of the end of March 2021, my country has built 819,000 5G base stations, accounting for more than 70% of the world, covering all prefecture-level cities and building the world's largest 5G independent networking network.

Zhao Zhiguo said that "5G+Industrial Internet" has become one of the fields with the highest industrial enthusiasm, the most active innovation, and the most effective results in the development of Industrial Internet and 5G. This year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will focus on four areas:

The first is to consolidate and improve the industrial foundation. Continue to rely on industrial Internet innovation and development projects, and through financial guidance, accelerate the development and industrialization of key products and systems of "5G + Industrial Internet", and lay the foundation for large-scale applications.

The second is to promote the application of mature models. Release the second batch of "5G+Industrial Internet" key industries and typical application scenarios; continue to carry out "5G+Industrial Internet" pilot demonstrations, release a batch of outstanding project results, continue to strengthen demonstration and leadership, and promote the application and promotion of mature models in more industries and fields.

The third is to deepen and expand the innovation model. Create 3-5 5G fully connected factory demonstration benchmarks, explore the implementation of the integration and development of IT, OT, and CT, and promote the penetration of 5G applications from peripheral auxiliary links to core production links.

The fourth is to do a good job in the development and growth of the industrial ecology. Focusing on "5G + Industrial Internet", select 2-3 national industrial Internet industry demonstration bases to promote industrial agglomeration and collaborative innovation. Promote the extensive participation of all parties in the industry, cultivate solution providers, support leading companies to take the lead in integrating the industrial chain, form an innovative consortium, and form a "team competition" model of win-win cooperation.
