On May 19, according to the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as of the first quarter of 2021, my country has built over 819,000 5G base stations, which is higher than the 718,000 5G base stations at the end of 2020.



Earlier this year, Liu Liehong, the deputy minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that 5G independent networks cover all prefecture-level cities across the country.

According to a recent study by ABI Research, it is estimated that by 2025, 5G users in China will reach 739 million. This number will account for nearly 40% of the global 5G market share.

In terms of annual mobile data consumption, it is estimated that by 2025, China's annual 5G data traffic will reach 782 exabytes, accounting for nearly 60% of the total global 5G data consumption.

China Mobile is the operator with the most users in the world, adding 15.6 million 5G users in March this year. The operator said that as of March this year, the total number of 5G users was 188.76 million, while the number of 5G users in March 2020 was 31.72 million.

It is reported that domestic operators have deployed more than 385,000 5G base stations nationwide. According to media reports, Yang Jie, chairman of China Mobile, said that the operator has completed its annual 5G network construction goal ahead of schedule and has built the world's largest 5G SA network.

In addition, China Unicom added 7.3 million 5G users in March. As of March, China Telecom had 91.85 million 5G users, an increase from 84.54 million last month.
