5G popularization advances, 5G news may be commercialized in mid-to-late October

According to previous news, in April 2020, the three major operators jointly released a 5G messaging white paper, claiming to promote the upgrade of traditional SMS, and demonstrated the application of 5G messaging in personal and corporate scenarios. However, nearly one and a half years have passed, and 5G news has not yet been officially commercialized.

 

At today’s 5G messaging high-level forum, Huang Changjian, deputy general manager of China Unicom’s product center, said that China Unicom’s 5G messaging nationwide operation platform has been completed, and the capabilities of traditional SMS, digital SMS and 5G messaging have been intensive. 5G news may be trial commercial nationwide in mid-to-late October.

 

Du Chengxin, general manager of the 5G messaging operation department of China Telecom's value-added service operation center, also said that China Telecom and China Unicom have kept pace. The basic platform construction and deployment of 5G messaging has been completed and it has entered the final verification stage and will be launched in the fourth quarter of this year.
