Manufacturers are beginning to correct errors, 5G adjust the direction?
It has been more than two years since
China issued 5G licenses to the four major operators in June 2019.
It has been more than two years since
China issued 5G licenses to the four major operators in June 2019.
In the past two years or so, domestic 5G
construction has come to the forefront of the world, with more than 500 million
package users, more than 300 million 5G mobile phones, and more than 1 million
base stations, all ranking first in the world.
However, in the past two years or so, the
argument that 5G is useless and that 5G is a scam has often flooded the
Internet.
Of course, the most fundamental reason
why there are these discussions is that there is no real 5G application on the
personal C side. The 5G that everyone has experienced is only the increase in
network speed, but it brings more expensive mobile phones and more power
consumption. The consequences of higher tariffs and higher tariffs, as well as
news that various technologies are immature, base stations consume large
amounts of electricity, and electricity bills are sky-high.
Therefore, as ordinary ordinary people,
it is understandable to make complaints. After all, they spend more money
without experiencing subversion. The expectation is high, and the
disappointment is naturally a little bit big in the end.
In fact, expert-level professionals have
always said that the biggest application scenario of 5G is currently not in the
civilian market, but more in industrial applications.
However, in the past, operators, mobile
phone manufacturers, and equipment manufacturers were mainly vigorously
developing the civilian market. After all, the civilian market is larger, the
revenue will be higher, the threshold will be lower, and it is easier to
achieve immediate results, so 5G is advancing faster in civilian use.
However, this civilian direction did not
bring about a qualitative subversion of the ordinary civilian market, so the
disgust of users has also come, and there have been more complaints.
However, judging from the current
situation, manufacturers seem to be beginning to correct their mistakes, and
are no longer obsessed with personal C-terminals, and the direction of 5G has
begun to be adjusted, and everyone has begun to shift their focus to industrial
applications.
To cite the simplest example, Huawei has
established five armies, namely the Coal Corps, the Customs and Port Corps, the
Smart Highway Corps, the Data Center Energy Corps, and the Smart Photovoltaic
Corps. These five legions are actually using 5G technology to empower these
specific industries, which are typical industrial applications of 5G.
In fact, not only Huawei, global
operators, but also Ericsson, Qualcomm, Nokia, and ZTE, based on recent trends,
are paying more attention to industrial applications instead of focusing on
personal C-side scenarios.
Of course, I still want to mention that
5G is actually the foundation. Only when 5G comes first can some 5G be applied.
All the initial investment is large and immaturity is normal. But in the long
run, 5G is a trend. With 5G, We are more able to enjoy the most advanced
communications and Internet services, and our future is full of more
possibilities. This process may be long or short, but it will definitely come.
