North America 5G connections grow 67% in one year

According to TeleGeography, in addition to more connections, more 5G networks are in use, with 10 networks launched globally in the second quarter alone. There are now 182 5G commercial networks. This number is expected to increase to 220 by the end of this year and 323 by the end of 2023.

 

The growth of commercial 5G networks will help drive the dramatic increase in 5G connections in the next few years. Omdia predicts that the total number of 5G connections in 2026 will reach 4.7 billion, of which 512 million will come from North America.
