Don’t worry about the network freeze, try these adjustments for a new machine
Poor WiFi signal causes the Internet to freeze, but it makes
people feel very irritable! Every time I get stuck, I want to change to a new
wireless router, but I often buy it back home, and the stuck still exists.
Tired from work during the day, and relax at home at night,
using WiFi to lie on the sofa or bed to watch videos, it is very pleasant.
However, the poor WiFi signal causes the Internet to freeze, which makes people
feel very irritable! Every time I get stuck, I want to change to a new wireless
router, but I often buy it back home, and the stuck still exists.
In fact, there are three main factors that affect the
quality of the wireless signal in our home. One is the transmission power of
the wireless router, the other is the channel for wireless signal transmission,
and the other is the placement of the wireless router.
Adjust transmit power
First, we enter the management background of the wireless
router and find the option of "transmit power" in the wireless
settings. As the country stipulates that the transmit power of wireless routers
should not exceed 100mw, many wireless routers default to the specified
transmit power of 50% or 75% when they leave the factory. We can manually
adjust it to 100% to enhance the wireless signal strength. In addition, you can
also adjust the wireless signal to "through-the-wall mode" in the
options or in the mobile app of the wireless router, which has the same effect
as adjusting the transmit power, but in another way.
Choose a clear wireless channel
After adjusting the transmit power, we then modify the
wireless channel to improve the quality of the wireless signal. Today, when
every home has a wireless router, wireless channels are prone to overlapping
problems, leading to poor wireless network quality. Through the
"WirelessMon" software, the application of the wireless network card
or the mobile app of the wireless router, we can scan the surrounding wireless
channels. After getting the scan results, we can select a relatively free
channel in the router's "wireless settings" to increase the wireless
signal strength and bid farewell to congestion.
Not advisable to put in a weak current box
The last thing we want to talk about is the placement of the wireless router. Placing the wireless router in the center of the room is undoubtedly the best choice. Since the antenna gain of most home wireless routers is 5dBi, placing the wireless router at the center of the room allows users to experience the best wireless network in each room. However, this is only an ideal state. Many developers leave the network cables in the hallway when designing the room layout, so users put the wireless router in the weak current box, resulting in poor wireless signal.
