Central Network Office: Organize IPv6 deployment and application pilot
According to Netcom China, the Central Network Information Office recently organized a meeting to further promote the IPv6 scale deployment and application implementation.
The meeting called for strengthening standard leadership and performance appraisal, strengthening IPv6 national standard research and development, and carrying out IPv6 upgrade and technological innovation. Strengthen pilot demonstration and promotion, organize IPv6 deployment and application pilot, collect and publish excellent cases of IPv6 deployment applications, and create a good atmosphere for the whole society to participate in promoting IPv6 scale deployment and application.
IPv6 is an abbreviation for Internet Protocol Version 6 (Internet Protocol Version 6) and is the next generation IP protocol designed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to replace IPv4.
On June 20, at the "Global IPv6 Development Outlook 2020-2021" seminar of the Global IPv6 Forum, Wen Ku, Vice President and Secretary General of the China Communications Standardization Association, said that in terms of network infrastructure, with the joint efforts of the three major operators, CDN enterprises and data center enterprises, China's network infrastructure has fully supported IPv6.
Data show that as of April this year, China's IPv6 active users have reached 515 million, accounting for 52.1% of Internet users.
