Foreign media: By 2025, South Korea will invest more than 200 billion won in 6G technology

On June 24, according to foreign media reports, South Korea said it would invest 220 billion won (US$195 million) to develop and standardize the sixth-generation mobile communication technology (6G) by 2025.

This network technology is currently in the early stages of development and is expected to be commercialized as early as 2028. The theoretical speed will reach 50 times that of 5G, and the delay time will be one-tenth that of 5G.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Ministry of Science and Information and Communication Technology of South Korea stated that by 2025, the ministry has allocated about 200 billion won for the development of 6G core technologies, such as integrating satellite networks and terrestrial networks, for future aircraft and drones, and in the future. Obviously, this investment is the latest development of South Korea's efforts to maintain its advantages in telecommunications technology after becoming the world's first country to commercialize 5G networks in April 2019.
