By the end of 2021, 1.425 million 5G base stations have been built in China. At present, the number of 5G base stations in China accounts for more than 70% of the world. All prefecture-level cities, more than 97% of counties and 40% of towns and cities in China have 5G network coverage. According to the latest White Paper on 5G Development and Economic and Social Impacts in China by 2021 released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, 5G is expected to directly drive total economic output of RMB 1.3 trillion and direct economic value added of about RMB 300 billion in 2021. This year, China's 5G construction is expected to take another step forward. In the recently concluded "two sessions" around the world, "5G construction" is still a "hot word". Shanghai will build 8,000 new 5G outdoor base stations this year; Henan will add 40,000 new 5G base stations; Yunnan will build 20,000 new 5G base stations and promote 5G convergence and innovation applications ...... It is expected that by the end of 2022, China's 5G base stations will exceed 2 million and the number of 5G terminal connections will reach 600 million. 2.
